Use it all the time as an architecture photographer. Couldnt do without!
This is one of those apps that just "works"! With the ability to see past, present, and future presentations of both sun and moon positions p, rises and sets, it does it all.
Use when considering properties to but
As a landscape photographer I use this all the time to help me plan my work. Easy to use and the ability to see future days and any location ( not just where & when I am just now ) makes this a powerful tool.
I use it for planning nightscapes. It would be great if they could include info on the Milky Way as well but I would still give it 5 stars.
I didnt realize how useful this app could be until I was asked to do a photo shoot for a client that wanted a sunset shot in 5 weeks, the day before their wedding, I checked this app and I could tell them EXACTLY to the minute when the sun would be on the horizon on that day. Its easy to use, graphics are good, and the learning curve is short.
An excellent app
This app is quickly becoming part of my pre-shoot prep routine.
This app truly helps you to be in the right place at the right time... One of the most important parts of taking good photographs
I really want to love this app., but instead I find it frustrating to use. There are no instructions telling me what Im looking at, or how to interpret what Im seeing. Is the blue line the moon and yellow the sun, then whats the red? Someone told me to use it facing north? Again no instructions in the app. When I move, so do the lines. The current location never moved from a previous spot, so I deleted, and reloaded. It does seem to be better now. I have even tried to find instructions online to no avail. Personally, I wish I hadnt waisted my money.
For example, one would think that Locations, Search Location, and Bookmark Location would all be in the same place. They are in 3 different places. And things that you would think are intuitive, like a toggle between a North is Up vs Auto Orientation are hidden in the menu. There are other frustrating things too, like no quick reminder on what each of the colors mean, and some features which arent obvious like "Copy URL". It works, but it has a larger learning curve than should be necessary. A little more polish and itd be fantastic.
Great way to scope photo sites.
I use this tool all the time. It saves me time and money and I get great results.
Use it for sunrise and sunset photography and during the day as well for light/shadow. Also useful for demonstrating the sun path for solar applications.
While traveling to National Parks it allows me to schedule my shooting at or near the best time based on the lighting conditions. Very useful and time saving.
I regret the investment. Very basic, cryptic UI, basically useless
